heat island effect is a localised phenomenon. what Wal doesn't want to know it that it has no effect not the global average atmospheric temperature. which is a aggregation of all temperatures sensing via satellite and data averaging.

the physics shows the correlation of carbon gases with the changing temperature. its the only atmospheric gas known to correlate so perfectly.

solar flares, radiation bursts and "maunder minimum" effects don't correlate.

the one question that hangs over the correlation is whether the rising temperature causes the increase in carbon gases or carbon gases cause the rising temperature.

but since carbon gases have been shown to have steadily increased since industrialisation, at a rate that matches the rate of industrial processes and carbon gas output by industrial processes peaking from the 1960's, with the increase in average atmospheric temperature following the increase in carbon gases, coupled with the knowledge that carbon gases have long half life in the atmosphere thus causing accumulation of effect, its readily indicated that carbon gases are the key causative agent of increasing average atmospheric temperature.
