    you have to be kidding ------------------ American political culture is 'proudly' built around access to lawmakers and includes hefty donations - they are open about it and proud - they changed the laws to 'enhance' it


    The USA has allowed increased corporate political donations following the Supreme Court's Citizens United v. FEC decision in 2010.

    Prior to Citizens United, corporations were largely prohibited from directly spending corporate funds to support political campaigns. However, the Citizens United ruling allowed corporations to directly spend money on independent political expenditures.

    At the same time, the ruling did not eliminate limits on direct contributions from individuals to candidates and political parties. Individuals can still make political donations, subject to certain limits.
