was a wide discussion and i mentioned a couple of things abbot needed to raise such as rudds advertising himself in hong kong - he raised eyebrows a few times but when talking about the boats i said abbot needed to tap into the wide distrust held by the current community
he said that speaking with many of the people in freo, they are very unhappy with the current situation re the boats - he was talking about slavs, italians, portugese, greeks, croats etc who are hugely represented here saying also that tho they have voted labor most of their lives they were seriously considering voting for abbot. not sure he will be elected but i expect a swing
also talking to a member of the freo council (lib supporter - the only one) and he was telling me about the endemic croneyism that is in the council and carried out by melissa clarke and the greens.
