I'm not a Royalist and my preference is that Australia cuts its umbilical cord with the UK and once and forever waves "GOOD-bye!" to our subjugation to the likes of Charles III and his 'Queen' and to our horrid Colonial History.

It's distressing that Australia's supreme recognition for military valour is courtesy of an alien monarch.

Even more distressing are some of the circumstances alleged of BRS's military service - IMO the image of the VC itself has been tarnished.

Albanese's response in commenting that the recent decision of Charles III to embellish BRS's VC was not based on input from the Australian Government appears to have been factual, albeit also facile.
