12 years ago its was well known that Aus had the toughest emissions laws in the world and we had a lot of choice. then Abbott deregulated and gas guzzlers returned.
EVs are already available, though perhaps not in Aus, that will replace the FF machines with equal towing/loading capacity. there were several manufacturers in Aus 5 years ago.
