not everyone can or will be able to afford a replacement battery when needed.
but the article you link does not specify whether that magic 800kms is driving naked or towing a three ton load with half a ton in the back.
also who in their right mind (apart from super rich nerds like yourself) will buy a $100000 ev, have an immediate 30% depreciation with a future extortionate battery cost or buy a new vehicle, when one can buy a $10000 clunker that doesnt have the requirement of sitting for a few hours waiting for a charge and will run for decades without changing the motor (maybe a new battery admittedly which is a very unaffordable $200 (tic) - if one can find it when compared to the 10 grand clunker one can fill up and carry on your travels in 10 minutes?
fine if you want an ev go for it but dont set the system up to force people to buy one when most dont want them.
