I think you mean the majority of HC posters..... yes? but its truly a specious issue dug up in a desperate attempt to discredit the AEC in advance of the referendum vote. a dangerous thought to implant in the minds of No! supporters as I described above.
the reference to ticks and crosses won't be on the voting form. its a qualifying addendum on the website. it won't influence how people vote and any who choose to use a "X" will be ruled out as informal due to the ambiguity. ticks should, imo, also be ruled as informal.
Albanese cannot "direct" the AEC as they are independent. however he can suggest they change and rule out ticks, but I think Dutton has already made the distinction clear enough.
