    Good example.

    The Polynesian NZ was supplanted by the European NZ 165 years ago.
    Only in the last 30 years have the Polynesian roots been allowed to grow.

    Try a more realistic example to argue my point with.

    By the way, New Caledonia is far more Melanesian than Polynesian.
    But what would a barge boy living in a canal know?
