Australia needs to grow up. It needs to grow up and look around and see just 'how' the big kids do it.
Take China - China is a growing power. It's been growing for years. -
Here's what happens --
1. You grow your economy
2. THEN, as your economic might grows and your NATION grows - you begin to increase your military
Australia isn't at the first step.
Australia has a bullshit economy. It's an island where foreigners come to in foreign owned ships to dig up dirt and take the dirt away - leaving the locals with a pittance as the ships depart.
In the island itself aside from foreign owned assets - there's a few million grass huts - which the crazy locals value at about a million bucks each ---------- and then, they think they're wealthy.
They are in fact - nothing more than way way over priced grass hut owners - (and the huts leak, they get eaten by pests, they are hot as hell, cold in winter and take a huge amount of energy to keep going - which the locals buy from even more foreigners).
There is nothing to protect. Only WHEN one builds a 'real' economy - does one increase defence spending -------------------- SECURITY FIRST - THEN defence.
