This is why I dont believe the numbers ever.
Back in Rudd/Gillard/Rudd years, there were constant reports of # of boats/people. The oppositioin used it to smear the ALP into oblivion.
Then as soon as they were elected, Scomo announced operation sovreign borders in 2013, where they are no longer going to report on arrivals (to deter people in the third world that dont watch question time, if that sounds believable)
Then hey presto, months later, they claim they have stopped the boats. For all we know they could have been coming in more and more frequently, but by spinning not reporting as a tool, they were able to claim they'd solved it.
I wouldnt believe a word coming from any LNP or ALP mouth
