I agree with your penultimate paragraph. Dutton's leadership, confidence and charisma are relatively lacking. Can't see that changing in the next 6 months.
The rest of your post though doesn't comport with what I'm seeing in Dutton. It's Albo who's separating the nation from what was until recently our core, universally shared values. Dutton's stepping into the vacuum, needing to do remarkably little now as the hopelessly compromised PM and Foreign Minister self immolate.
I'm calling a May election now, with the Coalition winning, possibly with the support of a couple of independents. The world won't get better, and Albo is in thrall of the ALP left. He and they don't understand the Australian people.
