mate I too foresee the deepening divide in the nation splintering should this sort of thing continue, imo religion should never be allowed to influence govt or parliament. many are well-meaning and true chrrity and all the help for the poor, but then there are others using the same language with different motives.

religion enables a sense of righteousness that can easily exceed reason. remember old Fred Nile in NSW parliament? he held balance of power on many statutes and made many nice little deals. but Brutus... err Sir Fred, and his wife who, like JBP's wife Flo, took Fred's place as he retired gracefully into his..... we can all imagine Fred settling. no more righteous people ever graced our Houses in my lifetime.

nah, ban all religion from parliament. let them all rely on ethics. --- they'll never get it heh.
