Australians clearly know that deadbeat Dutton detained NZYQ illegally ( according to the high court ) Australians know that deadbeat Dutton did this for political purposes ( be tough on criminal immigrants ) The case won by NZYQ set a legal precedent which effectively throws the detention of stateless individuals into disarray ( congrats to deadbeat Dutton ) As much as deadbeat Dutton wants to show us how much he will 'punish' immigrant stateless criminals by detaining them indefinitely, the highest court in the land sees otherwise The ALP whilst not 'punishing' the evil immigrants to your satisfaction, are at least attempting to prosecute the matter 'legally' A problem years and perhaps decades in the making cannot be solved by 'punitive' measures especially as often they have no legal status in this country Like I say, give them legal status, throw them in prison and then manage them from that starting point.. let's face it though, immigration / immigrant criminals is a political football bring kicked around the field we have plenty of Australian citizens that have committed heinous crimes worthy of capital punishment and they were born here.. what to do about them ? Blame the ALP ?
