You are correct in that the LNP is stoking the outrage for political purpose, just as say the ALP might pursue an alleged rape in a Minister's office.
That said, the ALP had to only release ONE detainee under the HC ruling. The others were all down to ALP incompetence, hence they brought this scandal on themselves.
