To quote Nathan directly from a recent email I received:

"I personally own 19m shares in ALC and I am not concerned over the recent share price movement – my concern only comes on high volumes, coupled with a low share price. One needs to keep in mind, that a relatively small parcel of shares can influence the share price substantially and whilst it is frustrating to see downward pressure on the share price, this is the result of a very small group of shareholders."

As far as the directors purchasing shares goes? Well it is highly likely that there is information known by them that prevents their buy in with all that is going on at the moment. And I'm not sure there is much of a reason for them to release an announcement just to say "Hi". I am sure though, that they are working hard and that their input will show itself soon enough.
