@composer The first lesson I have learnt is investors can easily suck into the hype 'waster is the new gold', but they often forget that the water industry can be capital hungry, low margin as well as potential delay related to the red tape/political risks, the market is certainly favoring those companies with Chinese connections, because Chinese central government are pushing through wastewater treatment as their highest priority in the latest five year plan, they would adopt any new technologies a lot faster than ROW, but again please look for the growth potential, cash flow/reserve, the margin rate and the management if you would like to invest in one of those water companies.
