I recently underwent a day-admission surgical procedure in a hospital owned and managed by Ramsay Healthcare in regional NSW.

2 months prior to the admission I filled out a 5 page pre-admission document which, upon completion, provided the hospital with a detailed record of my medical and pharmaceutical history.

And yet...

On the day of the surgery I was asked repeatedly the same set of questions, 4 to 5 times, basic stuff such as allergies, pharmaceuticals currently being taken, been admitted to this hospital before et.al...all of the suited-up questionners carried a clipbaord, paper and pen... not a smart-phone, tablet in sight.

And all of this info/data had been provided by me some 2 months prior.

Ramsay have a "let's go digital" plan in place...from where I was lying, being wheeled from one section of the hospital to another, I couldn't help but think; there's room here for a complete Alcidion makeover.
