Hi Crazy & Reggie - if I can just enter the discussion with some statistics which are a little bit out of date - at 2013 - the proportion of all grocery dollars spent at each supermarket were as follows -
- Woolworths - 39%
- Coles - 34%
- Aldi - 10% (approx)
- IGA - 10% (approx)
- All Others - 7% (approx)
I don't have any later stats but I would think that these numbers would have changed a bit over the last 18 months. One comment that I have read is that Aldi is doing more harm to the smaller operators eg IGA - than it is to the majors.
