I think that he physically struggled in his last 2 games late last week (weary), but despite that, he still performed admirably.
Having only 2 days to recover to play Berdych tonight was therefore always (imho) going to be a battle. Not only was he not 100%, but he was playing a better player than those he played in Brisbane and Sydney. It's therefore to his great credit that he not only won a set, but also (and this is what is the key to the young man) he never gave up, never!
I continue to be very impressed.
