Fire-retardant company Alexium has been put on notice by shareholders who yesterday gave its board a first strike on its remuneration report at its annual meeting in Perth.
Slightly more than 39 per cent of the shares on issue voted against the adoption of the company’s remuneration report — more than the 25 per cent threshold for a first strike.
After a stellar run during 2014-15, Alexium’s share price stagnated last year. It was 80¢ this time last year and closed at 58¢ yesterday.
The company, which creates fire-retardant textiles and is focused mainly on the US, paid Perth-based director Gavin Rezos $830,124 last financial year. His package was $307,372 in 2014-15.
