ADO need to produce a document that breaks this down into concepts that politicians can understand.
It needs to clearly demonstrate how inaccurate these imported RAT tests are. It needs to quantify the costs that these needlessly inaccurate tests impose on our country. For every 1000 false negatives from a RAT test leads to X hospitalizations, Y days of absenteeisms and Z deaths.

Our case is compelling, it just needs to be clearly laid out. We would gain many allies backing our cause. The Business Council of Australia would love to see the significant drop in absenteeism and transmission that accurate testing will bring. The Health sector still remains near breaking point, weary nurses deserve the better protection improved testing can bring. It should be an OH&S issue for the Health Sector Union.
Our vulnerable elderly stuck in nursing homes deserve the best defence they can get.

We just had a jobs summit because of the labour shortage, a shortage which is being compounded by Covid. The very short sighted idea of reducing quarantine from 7 to 5 days got up but was there any mention of how useless and costly the trusting of inaccurate RAT testing is and how much transmission could be reduced with superior testing?

It shouldn't be that difficult to assign a dollar figure on the cost of a false negative RAT test, it would not be insignificant. I believe any test that doesn't have at least a 90% accuracy rate should be taken off the shelves immediately. Every new transmission is another possibility for the virus to mutate, it is grossly negligent for a government to allow any extra transmission that could be prevented with better testing.

Albo could possibly get some political mileage out of this. Highlight how this little Aussie company had world class results 2 years ago and was ignored whilst we allowed all these garbage tests in (and at least one of these importing companies with links to Liberal party).

The benefits of manufacturing in Australia should not be underestimated. Besides the jobs and dollars that will stay in the country there is also the issue of sovereignty. Our relationship with China remains in a precarious position and could rapidly deteriorate. If things turned adversarial it would not be beyond the realms of possibility for China to halt critical exports to Australia. It would be prudent for us to be as self sufficient as possible and that should include Covid testing.

The increasing awareness of the impacts of Long Covid further builds the case for having the most accurate testing possible. Having huge numbers of people with impaired mental capacity, impaired immunity and low energy is going to impose a huge burden on this country, a burden that can be reduced with our gold standard test.

The need for testing is still very real and still vital for many sectors of the community. Just three days ago someone I knew passed away from Covid. It drove home to me how serious this disease remains. We have the proof now our test is possibly the very best in the world, it is cheap, fast, accurate and recordable. We have built the better mousetrap, now we just need to tell the world.
