I sent an email to Gillian Swaby suggesting that they do take some action against this selling by Algos. Algorithms are fine and most large investment banks use them to buy large parcels without rocking the boat and share price, at an average price. But there are predatory trading operations that use algos firstly to scan the market to find these 'vanilla algos' and then use high speed activity to front run them and take tiny profits thousands of times. To me it is an illegal, unfair and non-transparent activity that only a few companies are able to do. Not an open exchange that benefits all and allows shares to be bought and sold transparently.
