please correct me if I am wrong, alk has 90 mil in cash and no debt with 500mil shares which equates to 18 cents per share and that does not take into account the value of assets like plant trucks equipment and propriety processes. If we or some entity was to buy ALK for market cap at 100 mil aud less 90 mil aud (cash held) it would only require an outlay of 10mil aud..and then sell off the plant and equipment that would be at a profit already leaving land owned and the mine ready DZP and gold mine as icing on the cake...surely that would bring another lets say 50 mil aud. there would be a huge profit for someone to sell off the assets in this manner and whats more its not beyond us at hot copper being able to afford this. I think this is the sort of company that warren buffet would like. " look for securities with prices that are unjustifiably low based on their intrinsic worth".

I have seen shares fall below cash value just because one of the funds had redemptions and had to sell a percentage of it's portfolio.

There is a reason for it but it totally distorts the market. It is irrational selling but it does offer an opportunity if you think the share is undervalued.
