Again I ask, what is the hold-up? If it's a staff shortage, then why doesn't the government just employ more staff! Hell, we have a nation of taxpayer's held to ransom by a state gov't department. Combined, how much revenue would this list of companies generate?,and this is just the mining lease applicant's. Theree are the Gas and Petroleum one's as well! Didn't some mention that CDU had a delegation of "shinies" at the site? What's the go there? Did anything come of it or was it a show the flag session and just waste more of WM's precious time. I imagined that those sort of visits end up giving some sort of rubber stamp to the project... then the party's celebrate with a XXXX or two and head on to their various destination's in the big smoke, have a belt and scratch around, a bit of a talk about their "Been-there" stories to the juniors around the tea lady's urn, give the file to one of the juniors to sit on and organise their next site visit. Is that how it works? Or was that in the old day's?
