Melanoma sufferers in the "Skin cancer capital of the world" now have a better teatment option at an affordable cost.

The interesting things about Yervoy are:
It does have some pretty nasty side effects, yet still got approval from the FDA and TGA.

It's a prescription medicine (as opposed to autologous vaccine) used in conjunction with other Chemotherapy drugs, and was approved on the basis of a median increase in Overall Survival (as opposed to PFS) of about 4 months over standard of care.

By comparison Cvac looks to be considerably less expensive, far safer and hopefully will show better efficacy outcome for patients (I stress... hopefully).

Provenge received FDA approval on the basis of PFS improvement over standard of care by 4.1 months. If Cvac gets even close to that efficacy level, it should be a no brainer for the relevant authorities.
