    Hi Madmin,
I think admin should consider bringing back the "thumbs-down" button.
    It serves a few purposes:
Those who persistently post "crap" on a threads, make nuisance of themselves and overrun a thread with dozens of posts will quickly attracts those little red thumbs. People feeling they have been a target of flaming and baiting posts by a poster might easier resist from responding because the targeted poster might feel sufficiently vindicated by giving the incitor a "thumbs-down. Equally they, for reasons mentioned below, would not see the need to "report" the poster, which means less work for MODS
The serial pests, attracting "thumbs-down_ from regular posters will also be easily identified by other posters visiting the thread and posters would more likely give a thumbs-down and resist urge to respond... which generally allows a thread discussion to spiral into junk discussion.
Won't take long for those with no ill intent when posting, to then decide to put a serial pest on IGNORE.
Re-introducing the "thumbs-down" sign will also cause people to think twice how the post or respond to others.
"Thumbs-down" will over time have impact on mindset of serial pests in that they will become more and more discouraged to continue with what they're doing on a particular thread.
"Thumbs-down" can serve as a "trigger" for ADMIN/MODS to limit a serial poster's post on a specific thread for a specific period...e.g.. If a poster regularly attract excess of 50-100 "thumbs-downs" , the MODS/ADMIN will be at liberty to assess posting habit and nature of such posters whenever they feel fit and impose suspension/limited posts for certain period.
Thumbs-down" automatically serving as a red alert" indicator" for mods and admin, and the guilty poster being aware of the situation, would start rethinking about posting his/her mode.
The other posters who will be aware of the consequences of mounting "thumbs-downs" on a posters post might then be happy to merely give a thumb down instead of reporting ( Off course serious breach of already existing categories for reporting must continue).. thereby reducing the weight being placed on mods who must respond to every report.

That's my case for re-introducing the little red thumb-down
