    all their expenses were in REAL while their earnings were in US$... the exchange rate would definitely matter IMO... the higher the US$ goes, the bigger the amount they get in BRL for their local expenses...

    a significant part of the turnaround (or even the day-to-day ops) story depends on the exchange rate...
