Thomas Bulkowski in Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns, Second Edition works out the statistical movements of a price after breaking certain patterns.
In the case of ascending triangles he has a percentage of prices that went to certain heights or depths after the breakout of a pattern after studying 663 ascending triangles in both bull and bear markets.
Thus on the chart attached you can see the expected percentage success rates for each level above the breakout.
The average rise for an up breakout in a bull market from an ascending triangle is 35%.
