Mate I understand where you are coming from. But you are missing one point. Taking over a company require the new owners to manage and run the company. It can be a risky proposition for a foreign company. Whereas with a join venture, they will let the locals do the heavy lifting and just support them financially. In the end they get what they need. It works better when the financer is not in mining business but they just need to use the product. Hope it makes sense.
