"Voluntary suspension
As you may be aware, under ASX Listing Rule 17.2, the ASX may at any time suspend an entity's securities from quotation at the request of the entity. In this instance, the ASX has agreed to RRP's request for a voluntary suspension. This mechanism is intended to minimise disruptions to trading and to ensure that trading in securities does not occur on an uninformed basis. A voluntary suspension will generally only be granted for a specified period that the ASX considers reasonably necessary for an entity to manage its continuous obligations.
We note that RRP was suspended from official quotation on 13 September 2016. In limited circumstances, the ASX may agree to this action where the entity is reasonably of the view, and the ASX is satisfied, that reinstatement of trading in the company's securities is likely to be materially prejudicial to the company's ability to successfully complete a complex transaction that is, or series of interdependent transactions that are, critical to the company's continued financial viability."
