In the world of in vestment there is this sentence: I forgot who said it exactly but here it is:
"You rather be marginally correct than completely wrong".
You must acknowledge that business operators, themselves, also cannot forecast 100% correct what will happen 3~5 years from now, when looking at the horizon we have as much information as they do, however when looking at the trailing analysis, company will have more edge than we do. Our job as investors are not to be correct nor to trust in anyone, we must do our own due diligence form a perspective for ourselves, a perspective that is impartial of any influences whether it is from the company or of others, listen to fact not noise. That is why investors exist, when you state that management are mugs, they are not if you would go and work for a company then you would know, the process of forecasting sales in the financial department is done daily not just monthly or weekly, as forecast became more correct with more real data.
