Well said jazzmox, singas and prepaque are sheltered people who have no vision or tolerance for any sport that may threaten/compete with their own biased sporting way of life. I like you love Aussie Rules...GO DOCKERS and enjoy the skills of Rugby (both Codes), cricket, golf, lacrosse....you name it, anything that keeps our kids healthy. But to slag on the thinking mans sport (chess on turf!) and call it violent because of a few minority groups who use it for social/political leverage is basically ignorant and divisive. Don't be selective when you isolate soccer hooligans as the only hooligans, as we have witnessed riots at ARL games (Canterbury and others) as well as the problem the players in that sport have with controlling their sexual frustrations. People getting pissed at footy/cricket matches and wanting to blue with the opposition big mouth.....is an Aussie way of life, seen it happen many a time at Australia v Poms cricket tests and Collingwood v Carlton games.....but the press plays it down.
Soccer has one incident and the media savage the sport as if it is the plague.......vested interests protecting their own invested $$$$$$'s one would think.
The World game will rise above the few fanatical nutters who blemish the beauty of the sport and the numbers of registrations at junior level will continue to rise and eventually you singas and others like you will maybe talk about Aussie Harry Kewell and Aussie Craig Moore and stop picking on the Gino's, Mario's, Slobodan's, Muhammed's of our multicultural society and let everyone have freedom of choice in whatever sport they wish to play/support or be passionate about. GROW UP BOYS, we are in the 21st Century, surely as proud Aussies we would get behind a game that helps connect our country to the WORLD!!!! Think about it a little before you go talking your bigotted shite:)
