Sandlion, as a newbie on this site, far be it from me to challenge your expert indepth experience and knowledge in the gas game, but I beg to differ on your analysis.

You are correct that proppant by itself does not slow down flow. BUT, if you have ever used a sand blaster you will know what havoc it causes to anything it hits, particularly if it hits something you did not want it to. Then upgrade the pressure to nearly 6000psi when domestic pressure is normally less than 300psi, also add super hard abrasive sand such as porcelain and bauxite - you have a weapon which will tear up tungsten carbide! Try convincing me that they did not have to reduce rates whilst returning frac fluids and while there is still substantial proppant down the well, from my experience it will tear up the top of the production tubing and the well head choke assembly, as I believe did happen early this week.

My take is that everything is still on track and the ann was merely an activity update, relating to us that the well was still naturally returning frac fluids under reduced flow, after which the proppants will be cleaned up, followed by a shut in for 72 hrs prior to the standard 48hr production flow test.

But then again perhaps I should review my interpretation based on your expertise???
