They're all coming back from beyond the grave to add their two bob's worth, as they see the Labor govt walking into the fire of being a one term govt. Craig Emerson is the latest, a former part of Labor's parliamentary economic brains trust.
Why they're putting their heads above the parapet is because they see the clear signs of an election loss. It's probably too late but they can still hope to pressure the RBA Governor into pulling back on rates. But that will take too long to have an effect now, but at least they would be able to offer blue sky.
The reason they mustn't be allowed to succeed is that an ease back on rates will be seen by the oppressed masses as a green flag to go out and spend again, back to the cafes and the frock shops and the overseas trips. And what would that do? Restraint will be cast to the four winds and a mini cycle will kick in again, likely pushing the trade cycle back to a worse place than it would be if they just left this cycle alone to run its course. More unemployment, more business & personal bankruptcies and even higher RBA rates.
These Labor crazies don't care who gets damaged in their relentless grab to retain power.
