the receptionist? Was bagging out her own company, she may want to go home early. Not sure if she is privy to all the major ins and outs of the company. Is it also possible you may have been the 5th person in a row to ask the same question in a phone conversation in the last 1/2 hr, either way not the response I would give my clients even if I think they are complete and utter wankers, never burn a bridge.
