Yeah I also have heard this called "stop hunting". Stocks at major support numbers smacked with volume can trigger lots of stoplosses and harvest a quick few %. Not a very nice way to earn money. I understand institutions also do this type of thing to assist in derivative expiry and accumulation. Can make stop losses a pain in the rear, but better than living without them imo
