The Japanese cull whales, not because they want to eat them, but because they eat the fish they do want to eat. In Australia, we cull millions of kangaroos every year (there are no reliable figures on the actual number culled) not because we want to eat them, but because the kangaroos eat the grain farmers want to sell. There is plenty wrong with how sea fish stocks are managed but the problem is over-fishing not whale culling.
