    How well do you think a new generation of auto-pilots with artificial intelligence will cope?

    There's an ASX company doing pretty brainy things with neural networks and working with advanced driver assistance/autonomous driving developers.

    Already there are some clever drones which can self-navigate in complex environments. Of course, that is without other air traffic at the moment.

    But then there are also autonomous drone flocks which don't bump into one another very often.

    In high traffic areas, flight paths could be in 4 altitude levels, one for each cardinal compass point with "transition" levels at the grid intersections - aerial cloverleaves, so you only need to contend with traffic going the same way except at the cloverleaves. .

    Sadly, AI promises to substantially cut the demand for electricity for cloud server farms, so I'll reluctantly pass on the coal shares.
