But Even with the wildest projection of battery take up over the next 10 years the major use of nickel will be for stainless steel and the top price for battery grade nickel will be what the Chinese can produce it from laterite nickel deposits. This laterite to sulphide conversion figure is impossible to quantify yet but IMO will be in the order of $US15,000/t to $US20,000/t. Thats plenty of margin for all current and perspective sulphide producers to do very well. Don't get fooled by dudes hamming it up like they did with the Y2K bug. Yes it is a problem, but it's not a problem that the Chinese haven't been thinking about for the last few years. The bullshit goes both ways. The middle ground is good for all sulphide producers. RED
