how's this for a theory - someone is putting together a takeover and to have successful takeup of it they would have to offer a nice premium over previous trading price. so, this party would have quite a vested interest in seeing the price drop - this aint a market cap of a few billion, it would not be hard to muck about with the price.
a few weeks ago the price was 30c, in a few weeks it might be 10c - the takeover offer could then get legs at, well, 30c.
