Just caught up on this.
Good AK did the interview firstly....
I read the transcript first, and didnt like the way it sounded, so thought I better listen in case I was missing something in the delivery....Oh boy. Did not enjoy listening to that at all.
Now I am a shareholder and want this company to be successful...but that interview did not fill me with any confidence with Otto as the leader...
General comment - he sounded incredibly defensive and came across as arrogant to me...but I won't hold that against him yet...
"So the reason I became executive chair was to basically assist in commercial deals"
"to ensuring commercial deals are struck overseas first and then we will revisit the TGA at a later date"
"but obviously when you have 4,000-odd shareholders it can happen. When you’ve got volatility like that in a company like this, I think it does attract day traders and it attracts brokers who had principal books and the like, so… Yeah, I think it’s been extremely volatile, I have to agree with you. It is quite unique, but..." jeepers - how about jut admitting the company messed up instead of trying to spin up a Hotcopper conspiracy thread about day traders etc. The problem with the share price is 100% the result of the way the TGA application was handled, requests from the ASX for more information about company disclosures and his own share buying.... day traders lol...sheesh !
Very poor explanation of the CE Mark - Alan knows exactly what these are - and the way he asked that questions was to give Otto an opportunity to explain and he scoffed his way through it badly....couldn't have messed this up anymore than he did.
"... and the regulatory department is the one that basically talks to the regulators. So, it doesn’t go directly to myself, I don’t have an inbox with talking to regulators....." surely the person with the responsibility for the company and commercial side would need to be across what is happening with the regulators...there's nothing commercial happening unless you can talk about your product and where you sit from an approval perspective. Real cop out.
Question: "So, you’re saying that the ASX believes that a lot of these announcements aren’t market sensitive and you don’t have to announce them?"
Answer: "Correct, which I think is – I’m confused by that and I had an intention to go and see them directly"
He had an "intention" - ASX query was a month earlier, I dont care what his intention WAS...I had an intention to be a global superstar ....
I could keep going, but that's enough depression to have to type out for my Sunday.
Hope they can come good, but not a fan of that interview in the slightest in terms of positivity. Either he is not across what the company is doing or they should get soméone closer to the facts that is a better communicator.
