    Oh dear.

And if he has cooked the best ever roast, lamb shanks or other time consuming meal,

but it has onions in it, then what?

Still can't fathom why someone with a serious allergy, would risk dining out?

"giving someone no shellfish - but, oyster sauce "

    # Oyster sauce, made with oyster, (shellfish) extracts,

Oyster sauces today are usually made with a base of sugar and salt and thickened with corn starch. Oyster extracts or essences are then used to give flavour to the base sauce. Other ingredients, such as soy sauce and MSG, may also be added to deepen the flavour and add colour.

Is the oyster sauce to be used in a stir fry, made with 'no onions' ?

If the people with special, "allergic" based requests were as fussy or argumentative as you,

would be happy to say, "sorry, we can't meet your dietry requirements"

and watch you walk out the door.
