Coeliac Disease is a medically diagnosed condition for which the one and only treatment is a strict gluten free diet. Those with a related skin condition, Dermatitis Herpetiformis may also be on a gluten free diet to reduce or omit the need for medication. The gluten free diet has been around for a lot longer than 17 years ....but now many adults are diagnosed with the condition ( as well as historically children). Coeliac Disease used to be a rare diagnosis by specialists but now is in the forefront of possibilities considered by GP's. It is not a fad diet or the same as being deemed "fussy" nor does it result in immediate signs and symptoms as serious allergic reactions can. Please give Gluten Free diets for medically diagnosed conditions such as Coeliac Disease the availability and accuracy they deserve.
