Shi'ites in the south will be glad to get rid of their oppressors. Only 10% of the Iraqis are well off under saddam and they are centred in Baghdad. The rest range from simply neglected to horrendously maltreated and the Shi'ites are, although in the majority, opposed to the Baath Party.
