Are the petrol pumps located very close to the EV charging stations? The reason I ask is because high voltage electricity and petrol don't mix very well, as we can all imagine. I'm sure there would have to be a regulated distance apart for safety reasons, maybe several metres at least, perhaps even more. Where I'm going is, I'm not sure how easy it would be for a petrol station to start replacing pumps directly with high voltage chargers, to the point where it may even be impossible.
I know there is a big EV charging station (with a Maverick 5B solar array) in Barnawartha Victoria, outside Woodonga, near a BP truckstop petrol station, but it is about 50m (using Google Maps) from the nearest petrol pump. I also checked Euroa and that EV charging station seems to be about 40m from the nearest petrol pump.
This all relates to how quickly oil companies can transition to infrastructure for EVs and how many EV charging stations will be needed if most charging is done from home.
