The job of analysts is to assess the intrinsic value of a company and not to make "stock price forecasts". The market can remain irrational for quite some time. Does it make their fundamental analysis any better or worse!? No, that's why the term "overambitious" is inappropriate. How would they know at what price the stock would trade today? They don't have a crystall ball. No one has.
