Sodium ion may not be as energy dense as lithium ion, but that doesn’t stop it being used for stationary storage, which is a big market. If it can be made using the same equipment as lithium ion, as CATL claim, then you can imagine as EVs switch to solid state, the old equipment will be repurposed for sodium ion.
