Yes disappointing.

I spoke with an internal contact at Commsec who advised they source that data directly from Morningstar.

I also contacted Morningstar (1800 03 44 55) who advised they generate it directly from company documents via an algorithm?...
He mentioned the use of Q rating: https://www.morningstar.com/articles/843859/what-is-the-morningstar-quantitative-equity-rating
So not manually curated by an analyst?

It doesn't explain why the description & summary differs between commsec and morningstar themselves though:

Either way, if enough of us make noise to both parties, something will get fixed eventually! You know what to do.
