That 1% drop in open positions seems significant enough. Now they are just playing games to cover the last 1.5%, let the price go up a bit to bring out new sellers that weren't even planning to sell yet and when they volume builds up on sell side they push the stock down so FOMO sets in and new sellers content to sell at lower price. Shorters variation of bait & switch if you will.
