Thanks triage! "Pigeon" Spanish? Yes I was an exchange student in another era in Argentina - think the era of the Military junta and MPs (not members of parliament btw) with machine guns on street corners. But I had an Argentinian girlfriend in more recent years and my Spanish is actually very good still. I just wish I had more chance to use it.
If I knew then what I know now. You and I have held through a high of $4, then back below $1, then later on, a high of over $7, then back below $2. I've always been a reluctant seller because of the tax implications. Kicked myself a few times over it as well.
I found my first HC post on ORE from back in 2008 here (back when there was a 'LT Buy' (and 'LT Sell') sentiment and there were no 'thumbs up', let alone the 'great analysis' lightbulb):
Peter pumpkinhead had posted a Forbes article about Argentina being the Saudi Arabia of lithium. Interesting to note that in the time since those days, Forbes has gone from being essentially a climate-change-denying magazine, to one that embraces climate science and the push for clean energy. Also interesting to note that Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia still hasn't started any sort of meaningful production.
I'm wondering where early Orocobre shareholders peter pumpkinhead and 2ic ended up. Yes, I agree, the lack of news can be frustrating and other shareholders have perhaps even sold out over the years because of it. And Joe Lowry was always bagging ORE, 'can't deliver, poor management, always making mistakes, poor quality lithium carbonate, blah blah blah', bet he feels like a goose now. Probably not actually, maybe he thinks 'they listened to me, so look where they are now'.
I figure that I'm a long-term shareholder, they've done a good job in that time, let them get on with it. If the ORE AGMs were in my hometown I definitely would have attended. Communication with shareholders doesn't make a company, runs on the board do. So my suggestion is for punters to keep their eyes on the scoreboard. And yes I agree, the company needs to keep updating the scoreboard, because, as you say, there is a hell of a lot going on at Allkem.
